and that George and Pinkey died and are buried at Slidell, La.
2AE1J. DANIEL GARCIA, born March 10, 1877, was baptised July 28, 1880 (OLG BB 2 p 150 A 908). He was married to VIOLA GREEN, daughter of Charles Green and Elizabeth Yarborough.
Mr. Heitzmann and I are indebted to Mr. Gordon Garcia, the son of 2AE1J. Daniel Garcia & Viola Green for much of the information on this family. Mr. Gordon Garcia was born on October 9, 1909, baptised at ANNC, and presently resides at Lakeshore, Mississippi. He stated that there were 10 children in the family; they resided at Lakeshore, Mississippi; and that his father died August 1, 1932 and is buried, with headstone, in the Lakeshore Cemetery. 2AE1K. JOHANNA GARCIA was the last child born in this family. She appears in the 1880 HANCO census with this family, age 2 years, born 1878 and died as a small child.
It is also of interest to know that the GARCIA family residing in Hancock County, Mississippi pronounce their name as GAR-SHA rather than the usual pronunciation of GAR-C-IA, apparently a result of the old French culture in Hancock County, Mississippi. The remaining members of the family outside of this area are known as GAR-C-IA.
2AE2. LOUISE ARMENTINE CARCO married 1EB1C. URSIN LAFONTAINE
2AE2A.'VICTOIRE "ELODIE" LAFONTAINE, born November 6, 1849, was baptised March 17, 1850 (OLG BB 1 p 10 A 70). Her marriage record:
HANCO MB A "EUGENE GARCIA married 12/25/1866 ELODIE LAFONTAINE"
He was the son of Gin^.s Garcia and Celeste Marianne Ladner (2. Nicholas Ladner dit Christian and Marianne Paquet). Vital information regarding this couple and their family is found in HANCO Chancery Case #1498 dated September 23, 1910 wherein the pleadings state:
1.	That Ursin LaFontaine died c 1902;
2.	That Amanda LaFontaine died 1 year ago (1909);
3.	That they had one child, a daughter, ELODIE GARCIA, who died prior to the death of Ursin LaFontaine (she then was deceased before 1902); and
4.	ELODIE GARCIA left the following children: Zoie Garcia, Ara-lie Garcia, Edwin Garcia, Armon Garcia, Anna Garcia, and Anoise Garcia.
From these pleadings we also know that 2AE2. LOUISE ARMENTINE CARCO was known by the name of AMANDA LAFONTAINE rather than her given name.
