A SENTIMENTAL FOOL
I'm just a sentimental fool and 1 know it,
I'm just a dreamer, I don't care ifl show it.
I find more happiness, in the little things I do Than you, and you, and you, believe me,
I'll build my castles of dreams and they tumble But when they fall, you never hear the rumble And when I'm blue, I wrap a song around my heart I've been sentimental from the start.
OLD FRIEND RIVER
Old friend river let me drift once more,
To my Mammie's cabin, long the Mississippi's shore,
Where the swaying willows sing a soothing lullaby,
To the darky chillun 'neath a southern sky.
I can hear my Mammie's singing songs I used to know,
'Bout the Swannee River and Ole Black Joe,
I can see the melons on the watermelon vine,
My poor heart keeps longin' for that river home of mine.
THE DANCING SHADOWS
I love the dancing shadows when night begins to fall I love to hear the echo, of a whippoorwill's call I love to watch the heavens when stars come peeping thru And in a phantom dreamship, I'll come drifting to you We'll find a beautiful garden, and with a sweet scented flower We'll sing each other a love song, until the morning hours And when the sun comes peeping, far in the eastern sky I'll hold you close to my heart dear and whisper good-by.
