$bi s stately bequeathal from the 19th century was erected in 1889 on the ^	highest	water front elevation on
j-	the Gulf of Mexico. The Victorian
style abode is the well crafted handiwork of Charles Sanger, an established construction engineer who was a major builder in the Bay St. Louis area. Sanger was responsible for the original St. Stanislaus College, St. Joseph's Academy, the design of the Court House, and produced several fine homes for many prominent citizens. Sanger also created and owned the Bay St. Louis Water Works, which had its origin in a pipeline distribution system that provided neighbors with water from his private artesian well.
The home was constructed for Frenchman Raoul Telhiard, and christened "Ada Villa". The Telhiard's were well known for their congenial hospitality, and were frequented by numerous visitors and dinner guests. In 1904, the house was sold to the McDonald family, whose name became synonymous with the house. Purchased by the Webster's at the turn of this century, "Ada Villa" has undergone a vigorous face-lift and revitalization, including the major improvements of a state of the art professional Viking kitchen, and embellishments of elegantly plumbed water systems.
