The books of my predecessor W. Brock shows that Rebecca Nixon Widow of George H. Nixon, Lieut. Col. $30. per month: 180 semiannually. Pension to commence 4th March 1861 to Aug. 15th 1861--?Pald In full Jany. 1866?

Rebecca Nixon Widow of Geo H. Nixon Lieut Col. S30. per month SI 80. semiannually. Pension to commence 13th Nov. 1865. ?Paid to March 4th 1866?? (in March 66).
Mrs. Nixon denies having been paid as stated. You will please instruct the auditor to examine her receipts to see if she has been paid in full, or otherwise, and for him to give me explicit instructions, how much to pay her, as her certificate calls on me to deduct previous payments? (of which I have no direct knowledge) and await instructions.
