THE FOWLER FAMILY
PHILIP FOWLER was born cl590, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. He married there cl616 Mary Winsley. He was a cloth worker and having taken the oath of allegiance and supremacy at Southhampton in order to quali fy as a passenger, came to America on the "Mary and John" in 1634. They settled in Ipswich, Mass., where he received . a grant of land. Philip died 24 June 1679. Children:
MARGERY FOWLER, bap. 15/25 May 1615.
Mary Fowlfer, married William Chandler. Mary died 10 May 1679, Andover, Mass. Sons: Philemon, Thomas, John.
Samuel Fowler, b. 1618, Married in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, d. Jan 1710, Salisbury, Mass.
Hester Fowler, Married #1 Jathnell Bird; #2 Robert Collins.
Joseph Fowler, b. 1629, Married Martha Kimball, the daughter of Richard and Ursula Scott Kimball.
Benjamin Fowler.
Philip Fowler married for his second wife Mrs. Mary Norton of Salem, Massachusetts. Son:
Thomas Fowler, b. 1636, Ipswich, Mass. Died 3 Oct
1737. Lived in Amesbury. Married Hannah Jordon.

MARGERY FOWLER, bap. Marlborough, England 15/25 May 1615 was married four times. #1 to Christopher Osgood as his second wife, (see OSGOOD), #2 to Thomas Rowell in 1651. Thomas'death recorded in Andover Vital Records as "Thomas Rowheele, 8 May 1662. She had a son Jacob Rowell, born 1660.
Husband ?3 was Thomas Coleman, also from Marlborough, England who died Nantucket 1682. Tobias Coleman, son, born c.1663, and husband #4 was Thomas Osbourne.
When Margery married Deacon Thomas Rowell it was said that his first wife refused to accompany him to New England.Their marriage covenant reads as follows:
