Thomasine Lumpkin, wife of Samuel Mayo, was born in 1626 at Yamouth, MA and died on January 16, 1709 at Brewster, MA. Her father was William Lumpkin, born around 1600 in England. He died on October 29, 1671 at Yamouth, MA.
The above John Crosby of 1670 was the son of Thomas Crosby (an ordained minister) who was born February 26, 1634 in Holme, York Co., England and died June 27, 1702 in Boston, MA. He married Sarah Fitch. He immigrated to the United States when he was eight weeks old, graduated from Harvard in 1653, and had twelve children.
This Reverend Thomas Crosby was the son of Simon Crosby, who was the son of Thomas Crosby, who was the son of Anthony Crosby, etc., for eight more generations until we get to Sir Charles de Crosby who was born in 1220. Sir Charles descended from Danish officers who inhabited part of Lancashire, England after the Norsemen.
Jerusha Foster, wife of John Crosby, was the daughter of Nathaniel Foster and Phebe Wing. Nathaniel Foster was born on April 17, 1725 at Harwich, MA. He married Phebe Wing after June 21, 1746 at Harwich, MA and died around May 1, 1787 at Brewster, Dutchess, Co. NY. Phebe Wing was born on January 20, 1726 in Harwich, MA and died in Brewster, Dutchess Co. NY. She was the daughter of Chillingworth Foster and Susanna Gray Sears.
We will now back up to Ester "Ann" Rickard, wife of Charles Crosby and daughter of Nicholas Rickard and Almira Kinney. Much of the following research on the Rickards was done by Eulalie Chilson who helped us a lot. She found much of her information in a book called "The Rickert Kindred" by Willis Rickert. The name Rickard is also spelled Rickerd, Rickert, Reichardt, etc. in many records, but for the sake of clarity, we will use the Rickard or Rickert spelling in this paper.
Nicholas Rickard was born on December 1, 1811 at Schoharie, Schoharie Co., NY, and he died on June 21, 1874 in Schoharie. Nicholas appears in the 1850 census of Schoharie, NY, house #1586-1587 with his father, George Rickard, age 65, farmer. Nicholas is age 39 (1811), and his wife listed is "Elmira", age 41 (1809). Children listed are	James 14, Anna 12, Origin 9, Elizabeth	6, and
Stephen 2. In the 1860	census, he is listed with his wife "Jane A.	Rickard",	age
47 (1813), James 24, Origan 19, Ann 21, Elizabeth 16, Stephen 11, and Elijah, (male) 8, (1852). Again in the 1870 Census of Schoharie, he is listed with wife Jane A. Crosby and children Stephen 21, Eliza (male) 18, Herbert 11, and Lizzie Crosby, age 25, keeping house.
From the above it is clear that Nicholas Rickard married twice. His first wife was Almira Kinney who was the mother to his children before she died around 1851. When the 1850 census was completed on August 31, 1850 she was still alive. They married probably in Schoharie, NY around 1835 based on the age of their first child, Anna Jane Rickard who was born May 23, 1836 per "The Rickert Kindred". Almira was born in 18 09 per the 1850 census mentioned. Almira appears last in the 1850 census. Then in the 1860 census of Schoharie appears a new wife, Jane Ann Rickard,	born	in 1813. They have their first child,	Elijah,
baptized on January 25,	1855	(naming his mother as Jane Ann Rickard) and born	in
1852 per same 1860 census. This male child does appear in the 1870 census with
