than the one listed in the 1880 census has to be the one born in 1872, even though he was listed that year as born in 1869. Again if the first George died before 1872, he could not be the one listed in the 1880 census. To add to the confusion, George's marriage record says he was age 24 in 1899, or born in 1875! While there is some confusion with the age of George in the census, we suspect the two Georges are one and the same, and the date of birth supplied by his granddaughter will be used.
Peter A. Weidman, father of Noah Weidman, was born on November 10, 1782 in Beaverdam (now Berne), Albany Co., NY. He was the son of Adam Weidman and Gertrud "Cathrout" Zimmer. His baptismal record is in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Schoharie, NY as "Peterus Weitmann". His parents listed were "Adam and Gerdraut Weitmann". This church is only a few miles over the county line to Berne, perhaps their home was closer to the Schoharie church than the church in Berne. He is listed in the Family Bible of Adam Weidman, Jr. The old Bible is dated 1816, and was printed in Philadelphia. It is currently in the possession of Walter "Wally" Weidman of Ocean Shores, WA. He was kind enough to make us a copy and had it certified. In the Bible, Adam Weidman Jr. states that his "stepbrother, Peter Weidman was born Novn 10, 1782." He also writes "My Bro Petter Weidman died October 25th 1857 aged 75 years." Peter Weidman was neither Adam, Jr's stepbrother or brother. He was a "half brother" - same father, different mothers! The old Bible gives a wealth of information to include Adam Weidman, Jr.'s parents, grandparents, wives, brothers, sisters, children, etc. These individuals will be cited later in this paper.
Based on early Berne, NY census records of Peter A. Weidman and census records of his father, Adam Weidman, living in Berne, he was certainly born in Berne, NY. "Petrus Weidman" is listed in the 1800 census of Berne. He is living in nearby Schoharie Co., NY as found in the 1850 census. He is listed as Peter
A.	Weidman, age 68 (1782) with Mary (third wife) age 44, and one son, Septimous Weidman, age 16. With this being his last known record, we can assume he died in Schoharie in 1857.
Peter A. Weidman married three times. First he married Margaret Zimmer around 1807 based on the age of their first child. Margaret died around November 1811 for the baptismal record of her son on January 14, 1812 says his mother was dead on that date, possibly in childbirth. Peter A. Weidman and Margaret Zimmer had:
I.	Hannah Weidman - born June 10, 1808, baptized on January 14, 1812 at
the Beaverdam Dutch Reformed Church in Berne, NY. The record names her parents. She died in 1885.
II.	Abraham Weidman - born in November 1811 and baptized on January 14,
1812 at the Beaverdam Dutch Reformed Church in Berne, NY. He married Almira Cole and they had:
46
