Motion For New Trial Is Overruled By Judge Neville Who Said No Court Ifad Right to Set Aside Jury?s Verdict On Fact Unless Verdict Was Manifestly Wrong.
Harry Lester, adjudged guilty by a jur^ Tuesday morniDg of the murder of Baggage Agent Peter Marcey, who was 9lain on the night of April 23 in the L.
&.	1^. Railroad robbery between Waveland, Miss., and Pearl River, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the 6tate penitentiary by Judge Neville of the Hancock county Circuit Court. LeBter?e attorneys made a motion for a new trial, but this was over-ruled. An appeal will be taken to (he Supreme Court, but lawyers are not inclined to believe that body will interfere in the carrying out of the sentence imposed.
?Wo find the defendant guilty as charged, but disagree as to his punishment,? read the verdict delivered by tho jury.
Lester, who had imperturbably smoked cigarettes during the trial, paled visibly as he heard the words read by Clqrk A. A. Kergosien for the jury. Tears came, but he made no sound.
Lester?s wife, who had sat beside him throughout the trial, and whose devotion to the alleged railroad robber and murderer has been as firm as it was pathetic, forced her way into the crowded courtroom at the reading of the verdict, but was stopped by Sheriff
E.	Van Whitfield.
?Let me go to him,? she moaned, ?I have nothing on mo, let me go to him.? At the sheriff?s bidding, a matron quickly searched the grief-stricken women, and then permitted her to come in. See rushed quickly to Lester?6 side, throwing her arms about her!
