Hi-
J u rre ^ ,	1991	4
I have sent many requests asking for information on each family.
The replies came in very slowly and many, many were incomplete.
I wanted all married couples to give:	Full Name, Birth Dates;
Where Born; Spouse's full Name; Birth Dates: Where Born:
Marriage Dates and Where Married. For unmarried children;
Full Names; Birth Dates & Where Born. We needed a paragraph from each family on accomplishments, etc. Brag if you like -your descendants would appreciate this in years to come.
I could not see why this project would not work. Now, don't misunderstand - it will, with God's help, be completed. I hope when the book is published all who purchase it (or read it) will see I tried to include the same and equal history for each family.
It was impossible for one individual to personally talk to everyone and I started asking for help. Of course, quite a few are now helping, and some are doing a splendid job. Credit will also be given to Kenneth who had accumulated lots of information prior to his death a few years ago. I have talked with people who have spent up to 15 years gathering information and are not ready yet.
My goal is to have complete information assembled on Seabron Britt's family. Mrs. Lovell is assisting on this part. We are working together on the genealogical ancestry above Seabron Britt. I hope to complete this portion and publish our book before Xmas, 1991.
I appreciate very much those who have given their family information and order requests. Also, those who are now assisting me in getting some loose ends together. Note: Please continue to tell about our project. Everyone should have an opportunity to order this book.
I was asked to do this project - and wanted to! I do not expect to be paid for my time and effort with it. I had hoped to have it completed by Xmas 1991. Thanks to those who responded to information requested on their families. Some families were slow and we are still trying to obtain some shortages that are important and should surely go in the book. I hope this letter is the last and final letter I have to send out. If we don't have the information we must go ahead and publish our book. No one expects 100% coverage but who wants to be left out? Please forgive any discrepancies errors and omissions. I tried hard but lack of cooperation by many was unexpected.
Please have patience. We will have a good book for us and, most importantly, for our descendants, a good history book.
Don't be left out. Don't forget to put your order in.
The 1992 Whitfield Reunion is scheduled for the Saturday after Easter Sunday at McCloud Park, Jourdan River. Hope to see you there.
Claude Whitfield
