Weir, Ida Beatrice Sylvester  -  June 2, 1924

REMAINS OF FORMER RESIDENT BROUGHT TO BAY ST. LOUIS.

Following an immediate illness of six weeks, but ailing for a long time previously, Mrs. Ida B. Wier, a one time resident of Bay St. Louis, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.C. Allen, at 3614 Eleventh Street, Gulfport, at 9 o'clock Monday night. She was born in Alabama, February 5, 1857, and at the time of her death was 67 years and 4 months old.

The remains were conveyed to Bay St. Louis on the afternoon train from Gulfport Tuesday and taken to the First Methodist Church and then to Cedar Rest Cemetery, in the family burial plot.

Mrs. Weir had been a consistent Christian all her life; lead an exemplary life and worker in the cause of Christ. She was well known and had many friends.

A daughter, Mrs. Allen, of Gulfport, and a son, Hugh Weir, of Bay St. Louis, survive.

She was a sister of Howard Sylvester, W.O. Sylvester, both residents of Bay St. Louis, and also of Mrs. Blanks T. Turner, of Winnsboro, Texas. Her father was a well known and a prominent resident of Bay St. Louis, Judge Sylvester, of former years.
