Vaccarella, Betty  -  February 2, 2009

On Monday, February 2, 2009 at 1:30pm, Betty Osbourn Vaccarella lost her battle with lung cancer at 75 years of age.

She was born on January 7, 1934 in Bay St. Louis, MS to the late Edna Tomasich Osbourn and Ed Osbourn. She was a former resident of St. Bernard Parish until Hurricane Katrina and currently lives in Bay St. Louis, MS.

She is the former wife of John Joseph Vaccarella, Sr. who is also the father of her four children.

She is the beloved mother of Belynda Vaccarella Deschamp, John Joseph Vaccarella, Sr. and Rockry Joseph Vaccarella, Sr.

She is also survived by Daughters-in-law Mary Ann Vaccarella, Carolyn Vaccarella, former daughter-in-law Lisa Vaccarella and her only son-in-law, Bernie Deschamp, all whom she condisered as her own children.

Her grandchildren that she was so proud are Nino Vaccarella, Marco Vaccarella, Lisa Marie Vaccarella, Giovanni Vaccarella, Dominic Vaccarella, Luke Vaccarella, Destinee and Garrett Deschamp. Great grandchildren are Alex Marie Vaccarella, Lelani Vaccarella, Chloe Vaccarella and Talan Spitelera. She now joins into eternal rest with her beloved grandsons the late Rockey Vaccarella Jr., and Dimitri Vaccarella. She was the sister of the late Zola O. Taylor and "Jim" O. Loicano and her brother Billy Osbourn. She was always at the parks or gym with her grandchildren. She was also known as "Granny" to not only the kids but their parents also.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA. on Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 9:00 AM until 1:00PM. The graveside service will be at Cedar Rest Cemetery, 200 2nd Street, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the local arrangements.
