Brown, Mabel Louis  -  June 30, 2000

Mrs. Mabel Louise Brown, 85, of Waveland died Friday, June 30, 2000, in Waveland. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Brown was a native of Des Allemands, LA, and a longtime resident of Hancock County where she worked in many drug stores in this community. She was born to the late Walter and Azelie Ockman as one of ten children. She was the beloved wife of the late Bob Brown, Sr. Beloved mother of Cynthia McCarty of Placerville, CA, Bob Brown, Jr., of Mound, MN, and Pat Cullifer of Waveland, MS. Sister of Norman Ockman of McNeill, MS, Rita Mazares of New Orleans, LA, and Aurelie Hote of Waveland, MS. She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown was a Catholic and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church for 50 years in Clermont Harbor where she served with the Altar Society and the Ladies Sodality. Better known as the Avon Lady of Clermont Harbor, Mabel was loved by all whom she touched, and she will be sadly missed. She was a member of the Waveland Senior Citizens.

Visitation will be Monday, July 3, 2000, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. from the Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis. A service will be at 1 p.m. from funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Lakeshore Cemetery.
