Cowand, Ruby - May 3, 1997
Ruby Cowand, 76, of Gulfport, died Saturday, May 3, 1997, in Gulfport.
Ms. Cowand was a native of Bay St. Louis and a lifelong Coast resident. She was a graduate of Bay High School and retired from the U. S. Department of Agriculture. She was a member of St. Mark Episcopal Church in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Inga Cowand; and two brothers, Jesse Cowand Jr. and Malcolm Cowand.
Survivors include four brothers, Carl C. Cowand, Elliott K. Cowand, both of New Orleans, Hubert L. Cowand of Gulfport and Glen L. Cowand of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Helene Cowand Price of Bay St. Louis and Eulalie Cowand Jordy of Laport, Texas.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday in Cowand Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.
Riemann Funeral Home in Gulfport was in charge of arrangements.
