Hayward, John R. - August 21, 1999
John R. Hayward, 86, of Waveland, died Saturday, August 21, 1999, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. Hayward was a native of Germania Plantation in Hohen Solms, La. And a longtime resident of Waveland. He managed the family plantation Germania before moving to Waveland where he pursued a construction career. He was a member of American Legion Post 77, Waveland, and VFW Post 3253, Bay St. Louis. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Pines in Waveland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Parker Hayward; his parents, William Campbell and Helene Elenor Reuss Hayward; a sister, Helene Hayward Renken; and a grandson, Hamilton John Guenard.
Survivors include a son, Tom R. Hayward of Pass christian; five daughters, Marie Bernard, Clarine Mauffray and Judy Schuengel, all of Waveland, Connie McLain of Davenport, N.Y. and Susan Gayaut of Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, William C. Hayward Jr. of Gonzales, La., and Douglas S. Hayward of Donaldsonville, La; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Visitation was Wednesday evening at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home today at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. funeral service at Lutheran Church of the Pines in Waveland. Interment will follow in Waveland City Cemetery.
