McKay, Dorothy - June 28, 1999
Dorothy McKay, 52, died Wednesday, June 28, 1999, in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. McKay was born Feb 2, 1947, in Waveland and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church in Waveland and was graduated from Valena C. Jones High School in Bay St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence McKay; her mother, Clara Mae Daniels; a sister, Ora Lee Garrett; and two brothers, Willie Brownlee and Charlie Washington.
Survivors include her father, Charlie Hawkins of Waveland; four sons, Rodney Washington of Columbia, Miss., Daren Washington and Jason McKay, both of Waveland, and Mark McKay of Grand Rapids, Miss; two sisters, Rosa Jackson and Barbara Hawkins, both of Houston, Texas; fou r brothers Lonzell Silas and Irving Hawkins, both of New Orleans, Thomas Hawkins of Waveland and Sammy Hawkins of Houston; and three grandchildren.
A service was held at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 30, 1999.
Burial was held in Waveland Cemetery.
Lockett-Williams' Mortuary in Gulfport was in charge of arrangements.
