A boulder and cross mark the landing place (KJS: in error) of the French colonists vho settled in Biloxi section in 1699 under the leadership of Pierre le 1-toyne d’lberville.
The Cross marks the place where an early Mission Church stooJi, It^vas erected in 1870 to take the place of an older one.
The Boulder vas placed on the north shore of the Back Bay of Biloxi about fifteen years ago (from 193*+) ty the Daughters of American Revolution of Gulfport in corrrrenoration of the landing of the French colonists.
