A proposal that a memorial be created to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in Hurricane Katrina is hereby presented by Dane St. Pe, a resident of the village of Clermont Harbor, Mississippi. His father, Robert St. Pe, was lost to the storm. The memorial would be created from the concrete pillars that once formed the entrance to Clermont Harbor. These pillars date to the early 1900’s and are familiar to all who have lived here. The proposed site of the memorial would be on the water side of Beach Boulevard at the end of Ioor Street.
This small historic town on the coast just west of Waveland, Mississippi, is beloved by many. This memorial would stand as a symbol to future generations of how special Clermont Harbor really is.
