11.	AREA DEVELOPMENT Other construction legislation encourages area development
by authorizing the creation of municipal and county planning commissions.
12.	FORESTRY DEVELOPMENT Small land owners have been encouragad to raise trees through
the establishment of a forestry "bank".
13.	EDUCATION An Educational Fact Finding Committee has been created to
take a serious lookat Mississippi's approach to education in the future.
14.	RESEARCH In the area of research, the legislature created the Mississippi
Industrial and Technological Research Commission as a permanent state agcncy. This group has authority to conduct economic and scientific research and to establish a research center in the state. . Also, included are special research projects in the fields of mcdicine, aerophysics, meats, education, ccramic engineering, and nuclear science.
INDUSTRIAL GROWTH
New industry has come to the state partly as a result of the new space programs and partly as a result of the fine economic climate that has been created through the passage of the aforementioned legislation into law. These, coupled v/ith the Gulf Coast area's superb geographical and climatic advantages, provide all the ingredients for greatc- and greater future development of the
