Hancock Food Pantry has served 8,420
To the Editor:
The Hancock County Food Pantry is three years old! The first day of operation was May 19, 1986.
In this three-year period, 2,392 families, 8,420 people, have received emergency supplies of food. Most of this number were hungry children.
This important work could not have been accomplished without our faithful volunteers, who have given so many hours to the pantry. We want all of them to know that each and every one of them is very much appreciated.
Sincere thanks is extended to all the churches, organizations and other good friends of the pantry who have so generously
given food and cash.
Thanks to the board of supervisors for providing space for the pantry to operate and to the sheriffs department for ‘manpower’ from their trustees.
Bobby Boudin and his staff at Civil Defense have always been there for us day in and day out to provide any needed assistance. Thanks, Bobby!
The people of Bay St. Louis and Hancock County are the finest in the world. This is the reason so many families in our own area have received help in times of dire need.
Sincerely, Ina Piazza Evelyn Johnson Aileen Sauzer Wilma McMahon
