I THANK THEE GOD
I thank thee God - for my eyes Thou hast given me,
That I might see, the sun's bright ray The flowers gay
The things I love throughout the day The little stars up in the sky,
The lovely moon that shines on high The sleepy birds that homeward fly 1 thank thee God for my two ears that I may hear
The voices that to me are dear The rolling waves along the shore A friendly knock upon my door I thank thee God
TO AN APRON
Two aprons hung on a pantry door One very happy - the other quite sore The broom in the comer sighed and said, Why do you worry your pretty head The sad apron, looked so limp and forlorn While your job is finished and you are free Of course I'll be mingling with the guests Who sometimes can really be such pests O' they will be praising about the eats The wonderful salad, the delicious sweets The fresh crisp curtains, the crystal so clear Alas, the credit is all yours my dear.
