Philip Saucier got a land grant within the city limits.
Although ?bui St. Louis is predoainently Catholic in religious preferences, many sects of the Christian faith have pretty churches with excellent kindergarten^. Freedom of choice in religion is honored with gentle tolerance and true understanding. There are no racial prejudices to speak of. Blacks serve with whites as teachers, police officers and in equal opportunity business establishments. Although we have a present-day blend of cultures, c&y St. Louis still retains some of the Old world charm of French and Spanish antecedents. Here in Bay St. Louis we refer to ourselves as Hancock Gountiane.
We are go-togethers. Ham and eggs go together, crackers and cheese go together and waveland and Bay St. Louis go together.
They join as "sister cities" sharing Yacht Club facilities,
Garden Club Activities, Hospital facilities. Little Theater activities and civic organizations such as Notary and Lions ulubs.
