"second marriage", and it names her parents as "Jonas Smith and Catherine Smith". This record also says that she was born in Brunswick, Rensselaer Co., NY and census records also verify this. This Charles Baker was apparently dead by the 1900 census of Galway, NY because "Hannah E. Baker, widow", was living with her mother and brother. We will discuss her parents later on in this paper.
Eudora "Dora" Crosby was the second wife of Ezra A. Weidman, and daughter of Charles Crosby and Ester "Ann" Rickard. The first record we have on her is in the 1870 census of Middleburgh, NY, house #255-260. She is listed as "Eudora Crosby", age 8 (1862) and with her parents Charles and Anna Crosby. She next appears in the 1880 census of Schoharie, Co., NY as "Udora Crosby" age 17, with her parents, and three brothers.
The Middleburgh News has a notice that "Ezra Weidman and Eudora Crosby married on July 2, 1885 at Huntersland, NY". We found their marriage record in the town of Berne, Albany Co., NY. It said that Ezra Weidman, resident of Huntersland, age 31,	farmer, was	born	in	Huntersland, son of
Noah Weidman and Nancy Willmann.	He married	on July	2, 1885 to Eudora
Crosby, age 23,	(1862).	She was born in Middleburgh but lived in
Huntersland at the time of her marriage. Her parents listed were Charles Crosby and Ester Ann Rickard.
Eudora "Dora" Crosby Weidman died on June 28, 1894 in Huntersland and is buried in the Huntersland Christian Church (now Union Cemetery) without a headmarker. The local newspaper, The Middleburgh News has an article published on July 5, 1894 that "Mrs. Ezra Weidman died Thursday of Consumption". The "Thursday" was actually "June 28, 1894". The burial records for the Huntersland Christian Church	show	that a grave was dug	for
her on June 30, 1894.
As previously addressed, Eudora had one child by an early relationship (father unknown) called Maude, and she had three more children by Ezra A. Weidman named: Herbert, Stanley Ezra, and (first name unknown) Weidman.
Eudora "Dora" Crosby parents were Charles Crosby and Ester "Ann" Rickard. Charles Crosby was born on August 4, 18 41 as found on his headstone in the Huntersland Christian (Union) Cemetery, but does not list his date of death. We did find his death certificate in the New York State Department of Health that confirmed he was born on August 4, 1841 in Middleburgh, NY and died on September 10, 1919 in Florida, NY. Florida is not a town, but a township that is now part of the city of Amsterdam, NY, thus "Florida" is not found on most maps. The record shows his parents to be "Elijah Crosby and Betsey A. Baughton", both born in New York State. Charles' occupation was given as "Farmer". This information was supplied by David P. Crosby of Amsterdam, Montgomery Co., NY. He was the youngest son of Charles Crosby and Ester "Ann" Rickard. When David listed his grandmother, he was probably not sure of her exact name because she died when he was a small child. We will show her correct maiden name later as given at the time of "Betsey's" death in 1886 by her son, Hiram Crosby. Charles was apparently living with David at the time of his death when he was 7 8 years old.
